Mission, Vision & Values

Summit High School Mission Statement

The mission of Summit High School is to provide students with the academic and personal skills needed to be successful and productive global citizens.

Summit High School Vision Statement

Summit High School is based on the belief that all students can and deserve to learn. Not only are high expectations held for all students, but equity and access is ensured for all students through dual accountability: The teacher’s accountability to meet the needs of students and the students’ accountability to their own behavior and learning. Summit High School is based on the following ideas and philosophies:

  • Building community and support among students, faculty, parents and the larger community is critical to students’ academic and personal success.
  • Parents need to work collaboratively and learn with their children to ensure their success.
  • Students will be more successful if they have tools for personal decision making, goal setting and making sense of the world around them.

In pursuit of our mission and vision, the teachers, support staff and administration will:

  • Create an environment of mutual respect, openness, and trust.
  • Model enthusiasm for thinking, learning, and doing.
  • Teach students to enjoy responsibility.
  • Maintain high standards and expectations.
  • Provide curriculum that meets the needs of students.
  • Engage the community.
